Pictures To Bring To The Audition
You must submit two photographs. Black and white or color is acceptable. Photographs should be in practice clothes, with no skirts or warm-up accessories. Girls must wear pink tights and solid colored leotards. Boys should wear white Tshirts and dark tights. Include one pose in first arabesque and one in 'a la seconde either en l'air or par terre. Pointe shoes are preferable for girls.
Audition By Video
If you are unable to audition in person for the dance department, you may audition by video tape. However, auditioning in person during our audition tour or at the School is strongly recommended.
Video auditions need to be taped in VHS or VHSC format and should be no longer than 10 minutes.
At the beginning of the video, please stand facing the camera and give your name, age, grade in school, name of the studio and the instructor(s) with whom you are currently studying. Indicate whether you are auditioning for the summer or academic year program.
The video should include a demonstration in classical ballet technique. Please include some barre work, centre work, and also pointe work for girls.
Send the video and completed audition form to the attention of the Registrar with a $25.00 audition fee.
