Hiawatha Johnson Jr.

Musician, magician, producer, director, actor, dancer and choreographer, Hiawatha Johnson Jr. describes himself as an "entertainment artist." His unique talents and performance style have garnered him the respect of educators, artists, and laymen throughout the United States and abroad. He is a founder and on the board of directors of Riverviews ArtSpace where he has opened a performing arts studio and established KTMA Performing Arts Ensemble. Since the spring of 2005 Mr. Johnson has been working as chief consultant for Siegfried & Roy Present Darren Romeo at the Welk Resort Theatre in Branson, Missouri. Mr. Johnson joined the faculty of Randolph Macon Woman's College (Lynchburg, VA) in 1985 where he still serves as accompanist /composer-in-residence for the Department of Dance. Mr. Johnson is a frequent guest accompanist at the Virginia School of the Arts where he also Guest-in-Residence beginning this year (2005-06) teaching Improvisation as well as his own technique Essential Movement which focuses on breathe, rhythm, strength, and intent.
