Renee Fluty

Transitions Program
Renee Fluty is licensed as both a Professional

Counselor and a Marriage and Family Therapist in Virginia and has been a mental health therapist for nearly 20 years. She has also worked with families of adolescents as a consultant to parents with young children living away from home. She has a BS degree from Madison College, an MBA from Texas Christian University and an M.Ed. in community mental health from James Madison University. She currently conducts workshops for VSA students on a variety of topics related to body image and eating concerns as well as working with the faculty in developing a nutrition education program. Ms. Fluty has worked closely in developing the VSA's Transitions program which covers such topics as transitioning from home to a residential setting, resolving roommate problems, coping with the anxiety students may experience during an evaluation process and learning how to be assertive when expressing their needs to the faculty.
