Shelagh Connolly

Miss. Connolly is originally from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Canada, where she successfully owned her own Dance Studio for 25 years. She studied under her mother Trixie Hardy, Gus Giordano (Chicago), Edge (Los Angeles). She has studied all forms of dance and became certified under the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (Glasgow Scotland) as well as Dance Masters of America. Miss. Connolly also became certified as a Fitness Instructor with Goodlife Fitness in Canada.

Miss. Connolly is the current President of the B.A.T.D. and is honored to serve as the first North American in 117 years. Shelagh is a Fellow and Examiner in the Stage Branches of the B.A.T.D. and was instrumental in creating the New Jazz Syllabus and its instruction in the United Kingdom and Canada. She is a member of the judge’s panel for the BATD Annual Stage and Ballet Scholarships held annually in North America.

Miss. Connolly has taught at numerous workshops in England, Scotland, Canada and the U.S.A.. She has also taught Dance Education in the Public School System. Currently Miss. Connolly is on staff of the Community Dance and Broadway Bound Programs.

Miss. Connolly holds a BSC in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement and is currently working towards completing her degree in Substance Abuse Counseling
